Marlee and Shelby both participated in Upwards at Parkway this year - Marlee as a cheerleader and Shelby on a 4th through 6th grade basketball team called The Silver Stars. Both girls had a lot of fun.
Shelby’s team finished the season 1-6-1, but they had a great time and Shelby got better with each game. One game, she scored 6 of the teams 18 points and she received recognition at different times during the season for Best Offense, Best Defense, Most Christ like Attitude, and Best Effort.
After Shelby’s last game, the girls celebrated with their teammates as well as other teams from the league with an afternoon at Shakey’s Pizza. We were very proud of both girls and had a lot of fun watching them participate in the Upwards program this year.
