The girls are so blessed to have Cary as their Dad. They all absolutely adore him. They were so excited to see him last night after being apart for a whole week. He attended a JCP meeting in Dallas TX for a few days, and the girls and I went to Scottsboro and Rome to visit family. (More on that soon.) We were able to spend some time with Jimdaddy and Paw-Paw over the weekend, so that made Father's Day even more special. We are so thankful for all our dads, and love them so much!
Aubrey got her hair cut for the first time last week. Her hair grows soooo slow. The other girls had much more hair than this when they were two. I wasn't sure what to expect, but Aubrey sat very still and let Jennifer snip away. Now, Aubrey no longer has a mullet and hopefully her hair will start growing better. She always wants to wear her hair in a "pony" like the big girls. Maybe soon she can.
Shelby's piano recital was this afternoon. The song she performed was "Minuet" by Paderewski. She did a wonderful job! Cary stayed home with Laney and Aubrey so that Marlee and I could attend the recital without having to worry about Aubrey distracting everyone. Aubrey also has a runny nose and has been somewhat irritable today. She took a 3+ hour nap this afternoon, so hopefully she'll be feeling better soon. Anyway, I took a video of Shelby's performance that you can watch below. Marlee takes piano lessons from a different teacher and her recital will be May 18th.

Not sure why this video clip starts out with a black screen, but just click on it and you can see Shelby playing. Be sure to pause the music on the i-pod first.
Just wanted to share a couple of pictures from this morning before church. I will try to update soon with a slide show of our weekend including our Easter egg hunt yesterday. It has been quite a while since I posted on our blog, so I hope to back track and catch up on the last couple of months soon.
All three of the big girls are participating in Upwards this year. Laney is cheerleading and Marlee and Shelby are playing basketball. The season started two Saturdays ago and continues for the next six Saturdays. Laney's games are in the morning, Marlee's in the afternoon, and Shelby's in the evenings, so it definitely makes for a full day. Cary and I try to switch out and take turns going to their games so we don't have to drag Aubrey out all day, especially when it's so cold. I went to Laney's first game and was able to get some good pictures, but I snapped these shots of Marlee and Shelby as they were walking out the door. Hopefully, I'll get some better ones of them this week.
Okay, so I'm finally posting our Christmas pictures. Sorry it took so long. Anyway, we had a wonderful time celebrating together. The girls were happy with all of their gifts and we are all especially thankful for Jesus, the best gift of all!
